Shadow Puppets
This oil painting depicts a fond relationship I had with shadow puppets as a child. Every so often, I create scenes of shadow puppets on my wall to capture the feeling of childhood wonder once again, which is depicted in the painting. I am still fascinated by the way our hands create silhouettes of imaginative creatures through simple hand placements. In creating this piece, I felt a large sense of nostalgia while connecting my memories to the present. I wanted the viewer to feel like they are experiencing that moment as well, so I chose the point of view to show exactly what my eyes saw.
