Apotheosis
The Piece was created using Coptic marker, Marcon Pen, and golden embossing powder. As the title suggests the piece is a metaphorical representation of my idea of an Apotheosis. (An Apotheosis is someone’s ascension to godhood or enlightenment.) My idea of an Apotheosis goes more along the line of enlightenment. The idea of seeing things without biased eyes or greed, hatred, and ignorance. This is why the bones are golden. They are symbolic of the world without and biases or outside ideas. So in this sense an apotheosis is to shed all no needed skin and just see the bare minimum.
